He is The Light
Jesus Christ is the light of my life. He is the only thing that I know I can have hope in. He is my salvation and my King.
Most importantly, He is my brother and my dearest friend.
He enables me beyond that which I am capable of on my own. He is my only path back to my Father in Heaven. He is the meaning of trust and all encompassing love. His light allows me to be free of darkness, if I will choose to focus on Him.
His light allows me to be free of anxiety, doubt, fear and loneliness.
His Atoning sacrifice allows me to be made free, if I will but do my part; repent and change, turn toward the Light, and endure well.
"He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death." - Mosiah 16:9
This is my testimony of the Book of Mormon. I may never see with my own eyes the places where the people in this record lived. I may never touch the original record with my own two hands, and I may never know the exact location that Lehi's family landed when they sailed from the Middle East to the promised land in the Americas.
But this I do know; no other book on earth has brought me so close to my Savior, Jesus Christ. Through it's pages I have come to truly know of Him and His character. I have come to know in my heart the truths of His teachings.
Through this book, I have become converted to the Son of God and His divine role as my Savior. And most importantly, through this book, I have learned how I can become more like Him, and that is my goal.
I know that this book is not of man, but of God. As one leader in the church so eloquently put it, "No wicked man could write such a book as this; and no good man would write it, unless it were true and he were commanded of God to do so."
This is my testimony; because of this book, I know He lives.
